Poetry appreciation

Each month members decide on the poet or theme for the following month. The main organiser for that month - usually the member who has volunteered to host the session - leads with some information on the poet/theme. Other members bring a related selection of poems for reading out and discussion.Recent poets studied include T.S. Eliot and Gerard Manley Hopkins.

Current Activity

We have made the decision to continue using Zoom, in which two poems are chosen and one is read. This takes place on the 4th Tuesday of the month, starting at 3 pm. for the foreseeable future, due to health concerns for some, overall convenience… and basically Zoom works okay.

Venue: Online via Zoom

Date: 4th Tuesday of the month

Time: 15:00 - 17:00
