We have several groups in this faculty, details of which can be viewed using the buttons at the foot of the page. We hope there will be a few that appeal to you.

Local history

Are you interested in local history?

Do you like visiting local history sites?

Do you like choosing and developing your own research?

Over the next year, we will be researching and visiting sites connected to topics, such as:

  • Basingstoke History Trail

  • Jane Austen

  • Basing House and the Civil War

  • Alresford and the Watercress Line.

Current Activity

  • We met on 12th September 2022, to chose possible topics

  • We will meet again on 10th October, when each member will present  for 10 minutes on a topic of interest to them

  • On 14th November, Richard will lead us round the  Basingstoke History Trail

  • On 12th December, we will visit somewhere with a Christmas theme, such as Milestones Museum or the Vyne.
