Lifelong learning

Lifelong learning is an area of particular relevance to U3A organisations. We have several groups in this faculty, details of which can be viewed using the buttons at the foot of the page. We hope there will be a few that appeal to you.

To contact the convenors for the two groups below directly, please send an email as follows:

If you would like to contact the leader of any other group, please use the Contact us form. Your enquiry will then be forwarded to the convenor of the group in question.

Family history

Each meeting generally takes the form of a presentation by a group member on a family history topic, followed by questions, tea and an open discussion. In the discussion, there is the opportunity to ask for advice or to tell the group of your research successes.

Forthcoming Activity

We are restarting meeting in person on 29th September 2021, with a refresher on beginning your family history.

Topics planned to be covered during the year include: -

  • Ancestors in Newspapers

  • Wills and Probate

  • Shipping Records

  • Migration within the UK for employment or a better life
