If you are not a member of our u3a and would like to join, please click here. Lifelong learning is an area of particular relevance to U3As. We have several groups in this faculty, details of which can be viewed using the buttons at the foot of the page. We hope there will be a few that appeal to you.

Are you someone who has always felt you have a short story or even a book in you? Then our small, friendly group could be just what you need to improve your technique and discuss your problems with sympathetic, like-minded writers. Most of our members enjoy writing for fun and we share our writing in a relaxed, supportive setting.
While those members with greater expertise willingly provide assistance within the group, this is not a teaching group for absolute beginners. We do expect potential members to be able to demonstrate a knowledge of creative writing or to be able to submit a sample of their work to ensure that the group is suitable. Access to a word processor is highly desirable.
We are continuing to meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month, 2 – 4pm. The venue issue has still to be resolved. In recent times, we have held some all Zoom meetings and some hybrid meetings, with some members on Zoom and some in the Group Convenor's home. Those meeting in the home have been asked to do an LTF test first and to let the Group Leader know if they’re coming. At some point, we will aim to meet all in person, but this will depend on the Covid situation and the members’ wishes.
Venue: Currently by Zoom, or at members' homes. Still looking at alternative venues.
Date: 1st and 3rd Thursdays
Time: 14:00 - 16:00
