Through a programme of talks, demonstrations and practical sessions we aim to improve the pictures we take. This year we aim to cover the following topics:

  • understanding our camera features

  • improving composition

  • understanding raw

  • astro photography

  • wildlife photography

  • how to take interesting pictures of various weather conditions

  • a practical session

We will also have a couple of sessions when we look at members’ photos.

Sample past topics include:

  • Camera features

  • How to take pictures of interesting weather

  • Practical session

  • Photographing wildlife

Recent Activity

The group has not met during Lockdown, but we have kept in touch with our members to let them know the situation regarding meeting.

Many of our members also belong to Walks with your Camera where we have been going out and taking pictures and then submitting a small selection. These photos have then been put on Dropbox for us to see and every two weeks we met via Zoom to discuss the pictures. Walks with your Camera has Project Lockdown. Members are asked to take photos every fortnight and email to Margaret, who put them on Dropbox for all members to view. We then have had a Zoom meeting fortnightly on a Friday to discuss the photos which has been very successful.

Forthcoming Activity

Unable to meet during Lockdown, we restarted meeting in person from September 2021.
